Meet brilliant Chef Basma Khan

This is Chef Basma Khan. I have founded “Bismillah Foods Baker and Caters by Basma khan”. No one influenced me, rather “Food service and hospitality” was my interest since my childhood. I started helping my mother in the kitchen at the age of 10. I wasn’t a good cook initially but “Culinary Arts” polished my skills and became a successful chef.

I was fond of cooking, it makes me happy. This is the basic reason I have decided to adopt my passion as a career. 
I grew up watching cooking shows that enhanced my cooking skills and made me fond of cooking as I was gathering knowledge that I never had regarding food. I had a dream to become a famous chef and I used to say one day I will become a celebrity chef. I have completed my culinary diploma from “Indus”, baking and pastry from “Skilliston”, besides that i had done many certifications from different institutes. I have participated in many  competitions, won awards.

I am running my online business by the name Bismillah foods. I deal in all types of customized cakes, cupcakes, frozen items, Hi-tea snacks, Pakistani, Continental and Chinese cuisines. We can entertain around 30 to 50 people. I provide customize menu for our clients as a Trainer

I have worked in Chef Zakir Institute and conducted many workshops on fast food, fondant. Later I started a little studio at home and designed a cooking course and conducted many workshops on basic fondant, Pakistani cuisine classes, and different cheesecakes classes with my own certification.

My experience was enough to get recognized, I got a chance to boost my career on a renowned TV show, I took advantage of the offers and worked on it. I didn’t miss a single chance. I have worked with Gtv, Dharti Tv, Lively Weekend with Kiran, Sindh TV RAMZAN TRANSMISSION and at the moment, working with KTN entertainment channel “CAFE SINDH “which is on air every Sunday at KTN.

I am working for Women Empowerment by giving them a chance to showcase their skills on my show. I also give free classes to those with big dreams and empty pockets. so they achieve their dreams.

My vision is that, “food is medicine”, Chef education is a culinary health education program to educate human basic nutrition for all ages and practical cooking skills with the long term goal of motivating individuals and communities to adopt and sustain healthier eatery habits.

Future aim is to start a restaurant and an Institute “Café Plus” for those non affordable students to learn cooking, culinary techniques and baking to be able to get a job.
