Commonwealth Business Women’s Network signs MoU with Shajar Capital to encouragement of value added services for women

KARACHI: The Commonwealth Business Women’s Network (“CBW”) and Shajar Capital Pakistan Private Limited (“Shajar”) signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on encouragement of value added services for women amidst a special Signing Ceremony organized at Shajar Capital Pakistan Private Limited.

Hon. Mrs. Mahtab Akber Rashdi, and Hon. Mr. Rasheed Noorani, jointly witnessed the signing ceremony. Chief Executive Officer – Shajar, Mr. Rehan Ateeq and Adviser to the Commonwealth, Ms. Erum Masood signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organizations. The major thrust of the MoU is to promote mutually beneficial cooperation between CBW and Shajar in various fields such as economy, environment, technology and culture.

The MoU aims at encouraging retail financial services providers to offer financial and non-financial value added services to women owned small and medium sized enterprises, and advocate for the development of a sustainable market to address the financial interest and investment focus strategy. Furthermore, it ambitions to promoting cooperation on promoting connectivity of facilities, trade connectivity, financial integration and connectivity of people.

Similarly, the MoU also aims to promote people-to-people and business to business exchanges of different levels between the two organizations.

The MoU contains detailed framework for mutual cooperation in line with the MoU signed between the CBW and Shajar in March 2019. Says in press release
