KARACHI: Banking Ombudsman Sirajuddin Aziz and Ameena Saiyid, Managing Director of Lightstone Publishers, have signed an agreement for the publication of Mr Aziz’s professional autobiography, Wings of Destiny: A Bankers’ Professional Autobiography Carved by Destiny and Colleagues. The agreement was signed at a ceremony held at a local hotel in Karachi. Sharing insights into his remarkable career, Mr Aziz spoke about how he entered the banking profession instead of pursuing a career as a bureaucrat or chartered accountant. He clarified that the memoir focuses on his banking career rather than his current role as Banking Ombudsman, emphasizing that banking is ultimately not about money or numbers, but about people and relationships.
Ameena Saiyid said Wings of Destiny traces Mr Aziz’s journey from a missionary school to the highest echelons of international banking. She noted that the book goes beyond professional milestones to explore the values, experiences and relationships that shaped his career and contributed to his success. The memoir is expected to offer readers an insightful account of the banking profession through the personal and professional experiences of one of its distinguished practitioners.
