KARACHI: The Consul General of Malaysia in Karachi His Excellency, Mohd Yunus Ibrahim was honoured to attend the celebration of the 81st Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia on Monday, 17 August 2026 at the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Karachi.
The celebration commenced with a flag-hoisting ceremony, followed by a reception featuring vibrant Indonesian cultural performances and a culinary bazaar showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Indonesia.
The Government of Pakistan was represented by H.E. Mr. Irfan Soomro, Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Liaison Office in Karachi, who attended as the Chief Guest. The event also brought together members of the Diplomatic Corps, Consuls General and Honorary Consuls General.
Warmest congratulations to the Government and people of Indonesia on this joyous occasion. May the strong bonds of friendship and close ties between Malaysia and Indonesia continue to flourish and grow from strength to strength.
