Being present to experience the exceptional spectrum of art works at “Kasba-e-Kamal” an art exhibition at Ocean Art Gallery, in Karachi was an absolute delight. The art show was the debut curatorial project by artist Anwer Kashif, showcasing a number of artists both emerging and already established ones, all under one roof, with works in various mediums with an added dash of spice at the center of the exhibition where a young prominent artist and curator Umaina khan Sat on a chair , live painting one of her works, which she finished very timely a little before the end of the exhibition after which the floor was opened for an informal question and answer session, She was also exhibiting her some of her “ The blue times “ series of her paintings at the event.
Another artist in the exhibition, Zulekhan Mandokhail’s work provoked thoughts, and raised questions on the contrasts which exist in our societies. Also part of the shiow was Shahana Mashkoor who is the wife of Late legendary artist Mashkoor Raza displayed beautiful innocent imagery with lively color pallet at the exhibition.
The gallery came alive with artworks by artist Sana Zaheer, Nadira Arhar , Mariam Khan, Kiran Mukati, Hafsa Shaikh, Hafsa Mainoor, Annal Haque, Aamra Zainab and also two of the art works by the curator Anwer Kashif him self.
Present at the show prominent senior artists, leading figures of the city encouraged artists specially the young ones in the show while also appreciating the fact that Pakistan has finally realized the potential of finearts many are actively pursuing it as a serious profession, filling the void and proudly representing the country around the world.
