DUBAI: mirati radio presenter Saif Abdulla of Radio 93 is giving his time to young people across the UAE through ‘The Positive Voice’, a personal voluntary initiative dedicated to fostering mental wellbeing, resilience and positivity among the next generation of leaders.
Amid growing pressure from peers, social media and academic expectations, the initiative gives students practical tools to overcome self-doubt and unlock their potential. Abdulla has visited several schools and universities across the UAE, taking his message of self-belief from the airwaves into the classroom. His interactive sessions tackle bullying, peer pressure and fear of failure, while building confidence, kindness and leadership.
“If something I’ve learned through my own journey can make one young person believe in themselves a little more, then it’s worth sharing,” said RJ Saif Abdulla. “Sometimes one sentence at the right age can stay with somebody for years.”
The sessions move away from the traditional lecture format, combining storytelling with questions, activities, games and real-life scenarios. Younger students explore confidence, kindness and standing up to bullying. University students address identity, career choices, failure, leadership and the move into professional life.
Abdulla, a certified motivational speaker and children’s author, draws on more than 14 years in broadcasting, stage hosting and public speaking, including presenting the Breakfast Club on Pearl FM.
Ruba Shadeed, Principal, Al Ain American School said, “Saif connected with our students in a friendly, close and even funny way, making the session enjoyable, engaging and truly meaningful. A person like him can make a real difference in motivating students and helping them see their vision clearly as they build their future,” said.
Abdulla delivers several sessions alongside his radio and events schedule, placing the depth of each session above the number of visits. A 13-year-old girl recently contacted him to share how his morning show helped her feel stronger and less alone while she was facing bullying.
“At the time, I didn’t even know she was listening,” said Abdulla. “It reminded me that you will never know who needs your words. You may speak to hundreds of students, but if one student goes home believing in themselves more than they did that morning, that visit was worth it.”
The Positive Voice continues to contribute to the UAE’s vision of an empowered, confident and positive young generation.
