Recently team Biz Today International during a casual chat with Hira Jaffery asked a few questions about her beginning, her career and her future.
Hira Jaffery started by thanking team Biz Today for interviewing her and then replying to our first question, which was how she became a chef, she said:; “my story is a long one, but I will try to keep it very short and specific to my business and what helps me to become a chef”.
She added; “I am now a highly motivated professional cook and a certified chef. cooking & baking has been my hobby since long, but initially I wasn’t good at cooking, but then I took it as a challenge and after some time and some accomplishments, this challenge becomes my hobby again”.
She further added by saying; “when you have passion for preparing new, popular and unique recipes with healthy and nutritious aspect then you improvise your work on daily basis. With having capable hands-on approach to all areas of kitchen and possessing excellent organizational and administrative skills I am now a successful new chef.
Chef Hira Jaffery said; “I am also a proud senior cooking & baking instructor/teacher at World Memon Foundation Karachi, where they offer a special one-day class and one-month class. Here I teach budding chefs how to prepare Mediterranean, International, Continental, Japanese, Chinese, Arabic, Pan-Asian and Pakistani cuisines. We also teach them local cuisines like Delhi-Walay, Memoni and Hyderabadi cuisines”.
“We also cover basics of baking and advance baking. We also teach them about mix-cooking, event-based cooking, snacks, and customized items that cover famous hits from various restaurants like Delfrio, Nandos and KFC. We also teach them to do floral syndicate, fondant classes”, she added.
Replying to a question regarding her other activities, Hira Jaffery said; “apart from being a teacher, I am also a proud owner of my business by name of ‘Food Paradise’, which I started back in 2018. We at ‘Food Paradise’ offer a wide range of quality customized homemade hygienic cakes, desserts, savory and other confectionary items for all occasions at very competitive prices. We also cater to occasions like hi-tea, Seminars, Birthday Parties with your required cuisines and also bar-b-que, chinese, pakistani etc cuisines on order”.
On her pet project, she further said; “‘Food Paradise’ also offers online classes on courses of cooking, baking and occasion-specials by ‘Chef Hira Jaffery’. On international trips, she said; “I also travel to gain international exposure and experience. Last month I visited Dubai to attend Gulfood 2023 at Dubai world trade center, where I gained industrial and commercial kitchen experience. Highlight of my visit to Gulfood 2023 was visit at Top table, where I had great interactions with world’s top chefs under one roof”.
Visited Crown plaza hotel for Al Fresco, an italian restaurant where I learned and gained some advanced skills from Chef John and also visited International Centre for Culinary Arts (ICCA), which is number one culinary institute in Middle East for official training session.
