Landtrack.pk Pvt Ltd & Magna Engineering are organizing first ever convention supported by ABAD and Build Asia on Proptech (Property Technology) and Smart, Safe & Sustainable Building Technologies at Build Asia on December 22,2022,Expo Centre, Karachi

Engr. Naeem Khanani, CEO Magna Engineering Pvt Ltd introduced and explained that Proptech or Property technology is a set of technologies accelerating the processes of renting, buying, selling, and management of buildings. Proptech examples include solutions that operate on big data, artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), Internet of Things (IoT), 5G, and blockchain.

Farhan Anis, Vice President Ecommerce Gateway informed that they are organizing 16th Build Asia Exhibition from Dec 24 to 26,2022 at Expo Centre Karachi and convention on Proptech and smartech on December 24,2022.He shared his point of view that the application of technology and innovation to real estate came late compared to all the other industries involved in the global digital revolution. With the modernization of the world around them, millennials require everything to operate quickly and efficiently, including the real estate market. As a result, this property technology is catching up with the other digital industries.

Engr.Naeem Khanani shared his thoughts that Pakistan has great potential of estimated earning USD 1.2 Billion till 2026 through exports of  proptech based services like  virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR) , Building Information Modelling (BIM) ,Metaverse and IT enabled engineering BPO. Engineering graduates, IT professionals and gaming industry can change the landscape of proptech exports from Pakistan.

Atif Arafin COO Landtrack.pk Pvt Ltd informed the press that the core purpose of this convention is to provide a platform to all stake holders for their brainstorming and unleashing the potential of Proptech exports from Pakistan. We request Federal IT Minister to consider Proptech Convention recommendations for scaling up exports related with Proptech.  

Farhan Anis then introduced that smart buildings are structure based on IoT technology that uses hardware, software, and connectivity to manage HVAC, lighting, security, etc., and create a comfortable and safe environment for occupants. Data is necessary for understanding a building’s energy consumption and monitoring for energy conservation.

Atif Arafin explained the benefits of integrating smart building technology go beyond energy reductions and cost savings. Green building rating systems such as the Living Building Challenge and Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) allow for building projects to earn points towards certification.

Engr.Naeem Khanani explained the core objective of organizing convention on Smart, Safe and sustainable building technologies is to provide an opportunity to all relevant stake holders to build and operate buildings at optimal level of natural lighting, air circulation with energy efficiency for lighting and HVAC systems. Carbon foot print per square feet area to be designed in such a way that leads to net zero. Fortunately, At present there are about 18 to 20 buildings in Pakistan which are LEED Certified and registered with the US Green Building Council. These include British Council Library in Lahore, NCC Karachi, Mega Corporate Office – Karachi, Karachi Citi plan, World Bank Country Office – Islamabad, etc.  

Raheel Rinch from ABAD informed that ABAD is supporting this initiative and fully engaged not only with convention organizers but invited  ABAD members to attend this convention to better understand emerging technologies for development of real estate.

Atif Arafin drew attention and told that Fire Safety and fire prevention is most neglected area in Pakistan and specially in urban cities like Karachi. Moreover, vertical transportation (lifts/elevators) periodical inspections are much needed for life safety of occupants of larger residential and commercial buildings.

Atif Arafin also said that safe city is one of the most important requirements for all cities and specially for Karachi. This is due to growing crime rates and street crime, threats of terrorism and mounting traffic challenges. Top most priority for making their surrounding safe and secure. Traffic management and emergency management are again bundled under the safe-city initiative. The objective is to proactively prevent crime, improve law and order in the city, analyze traffic violations, investigate incidents and setup & control immediate response mechanism on a critical incident occurrence.

Engr. Naeem Khanani who is also engaged with Industry Academia linkage initiatives all across Pakistan and invited well known industry experts from Industry ,Academia ,developers and builders under one roof for brain storming to determine a socio economical smart ,safe and sustainable building solution leading toward smart, safe and sustainable urban settings and cities and ultimately towards smart, safe & sustainable Pakistan.

Farhan Anis, Raheel Rinch and Atif Arafin replied the questions raised from fellow journalists and invited journalists to come and join first ever convention on Proptech and Smart tech in Pakistan.
