RCK ‘Bay’ organizes free medical camp for Hearing & ENT problems at Ormara

Rotary Club of Karachi ‘Bay’ organized a ‘free hearing aid medical camp’ for people with hearing related problems at PNS Darmaan Jah on Sunday 13th December 2020. PNS Darmaan Jah is Pakistan Navy’s technologically advanced medical treatment facility and hospital located in Ormara, Balochistan. RCK ‘Bay’ collaborated with Pakistan Nave and Taj Welfare Trust for this medical camp.

Rear Admiral (R) Tanveer Ahmed, mentor of RCK ‘Bay’ was present himself to see off his team from Services Club to long and tedious journey towards Ormara, Baluchistan. Once leaving the premises of Services Club, Muhammad Hanif Khan, Chair Organizing Committee took over the responsibility of hosting Rotarians, Doctors, Media and Guests who had embarked on this journey.

On reaching Ormara, we were greeted by Commander Jinnah Naval Base, Commodore Amir Mehmood and CO of PN Darmaan Jah, Surgeon Commander Muhammad Fahim-uz-Zaman at the Central Mess. Scrumptious food was served, where we dinned and prayed. Then were scheduled to proceed towards ‘free hearing aid medical camp’ at PNS Darmaan Jah.

‘Free hearing aid medical camp’ at PNS Darmaan Jah was inaugurated by Chief Guest Professor Dr. Farhan Essa Abdullah, who is the District Governor (2020-21) of Rotary international 3271 and he has travelled all way specifically to inaugurate this medical camp. Commodore Amir Mehmood and CO of PN Darmaan Jah, Captain Muhammad Tariq, Surgeon Commander Muhammad Fahim-uz-Zaman, Chair Organizing Committee Muhammad Hanif Khan and RCK ‘Bay’ core team was also present at the inauguration of this ‘free hearing aid medical camp’.

After inauguration Dr. Farhan Essa Abdullah praised the effort of RCK ‘Bay’ and Pakistan Navy, he said; “today’s initiative by RCK ‘Bay is a very good step for residents of Ormara, whey they can avail free treatment as well as free medicine. Pakistan Navy is doing good work here and must be praised for their efforts during Covid-era”.

Dr. Farhan Essa further said; “hearing related issues are very common all over the world, but not much attention is given due to various reasons. This hearing aid medical camp will enhance the quality of life for those who are bold enough to come forward with their hearing problem”.

Dr. Farhan Essa concluded by saying said; “this is not the first time that Rotary has set-up a medical camp, but this is definitely the first medical camp for Hearing Aid by Rotary, but it won’t be the last one”.

Pakistan Navy had been promoting actively about this ‘free hearing aid medical camp’ all over Ormara City via pamphlets, leaflets and on loud speakers. Team of Doctors (all ENT specialist) who had travelled along with RCK ‘Bay’ were Dr. Mehwish Haqdad Bhatti, Dr. Tahir Hussain Khan, Dr. Farhan Ashraf and Dr. Javaid Ahmed Solangi.  Two top Audiologists of Pakistan Shahid Akhtar Rajput and Nuzhat Shahid founder of Taj Welfare Trust from also present. They were thoroughly assisted by Doctors from Pakistan Navy including Surgeon Commander Muhammad Fahim-uz-Zaman, Surgeon Lt Commander Muhammad Asim Siddiqui and Surgeon Lt Commander Ramzan Danish.

RCK ‘Bay’ core-team consists of Muhammad Hanif Khan Chair Organizing Committee, Noman Safdar President, Asif Moten Director-Project, Asif Mukaty Director-Admin, Syeda Sukaina Hussain Director-Relationship and Tania Fahim Rogatia Director Media-Marketing.
