KARACHI: Dengue awareness seminar organized by Director Health Affairs of Professional Youth Foundation of Pakistan with collaboration of Pakistan Society For Microbiology and Liaquat College of Management & Sciences, Karachi.
Guests speakers were Prof. Dr. Shahana Urooj Kazmi, President of Pakistan Society For Microbiology, Dr. Iqbal Memon, Program Manager, Dengue Prevention & Control Program Sindh, Dr. Rasheed Sheikh, Ex Program Manager, Dengue Prevention & Control Program Sindh and Sajjad H Dara, Dengue Consultant & Pest Control Expert while Chief guest was Ateeq ur Rehman, Executive Director of Afzaal Memorial Thalassemia Foundation.
Dengue is a mosquito-borne viral infection causing a severe flu-like illness and, sometimes causing a potentially lethal complication called severe dengue. The incidence of dengue has increased 30-fold over the last 50 years.
