DUBAI/ISLAMABAD: On 25 February 2026, the High Commission of Malaysia in Islamabad upheld its annual tradition by hosting an Iftar Reception at the Mayang Sari Hall. The event brought together distinguished guests, members of the diplomatic corps, senior government officials, members of the Malaysian community, and friends of Malaysia in Pakistan.

His Excellency Ambassador Dato’ Mohammad Azhar Mazlan, High Commissioner of Malaysia to Pakistan, and To’ Puan Amelia Amani Lee Abdullah warmly welcomed the guests and officiated the event. In his welcoming remarks, His Excellency highlighted the spiritual significance of the holy month of Ramadan as a time of reflection, compassion, discipline, and unity. He noted that fasting nurtures empathy and consideration for others, values that strengthen both communities and nations.

The programme featured a commemorative photo session followed by a recitation of doa prior to the breaking of fast. Guests subsequently performed the Maghrib prayer before proceeding to dinner, which showcased a selection of Malaysian and Pakistani delicacies, symbolising the rich cultural heritage and warm hospitality of both nations.

The Iftar Reception served as a meaningful platform for engagement and fellowship, reinforcing the strong bonds of friendship and cooperation between Malaysia and Pakistan in a spirit of goodwill, unity, and mutual understanding.
