KARACHI: The Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Karachi continues to advance Indonesia-Pakistan economic diplomacy through active engagement with key business and industry stakeholders in Pakistan.
The Consul General of Indonesia, H.E. Mr. Mudzakir, met with the leadership of the Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI) at its headquarters in Karachi on 11 February 2026 to explore opportunities for stronger trade, investment, and industrial cooperation between the two countries.

The Consul General was received by Mr. Muhammad Ikram Rajput , President of KATI, along with senior office bearers and former President Mr. Junaid Naqi. KATI represents one of Pakistan’s most influential industrial associations, having more than 5,000 enterprises in the Korangi Industrial Area, a major hub of Pakistan’s manufacturing and export sector.
Both sides highlighted the longstanding friendship between Indonesia and Pakistan and reaffirmed their shared commitment to strengthening economic ties. The meeting underscored growing momentum following recent high-level exchanges, including the State Visit of the President of Indonesia to Pakistan and the visit of Indonesia’s Vice Minister of Trade to Karachi.
Discussions focused on expanding cooperation beyond traditional trade toward joint ventures and investment partnerships, particularly in textiles, food processing, pharmaceuticals, halal products, and manufacturing. Indonesia also invited Pakistani businesses to explore investment opportunities in Indonesia’s dynamic and growing market.
Consul General reaffirmed his commitment to facilitating business connectivity, promoting two-way trade and investment, and serving as a bridge between Indonesian and Pakistani business communities.
The engagement reflects Indonesia’s continued diplomatic efforts to transform its strong bilateral relationship with Pakistan into a forward-looking economic partnership that delivers tangible benefits for both nations.
