The two initiatives save time and effort and enhance service efficiency and integration

DUBAI: Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has launched the ‘Sun Power’ and ‘Easy Connect’ initiatives to support contractors, consultants and investors in Dubai in accelerating the launch of their businesses and encouraging the adoption of clean energy sources. This is part of DEWA’s ongoing efforts to achieve net zero by 2050 through pioneering projects and initiatives, in line with its strategy to provide seamless and integrated services that enhance customer happiness.

These two initiatives support the Dubai Economic Agenda ‘D33’, which aims to drive economic growth in the emirate and strengthen its position among the world’s leading cities. They also align with the ‘Services 360’ policy, which focuses on delivering smooth, proactive and fully integrated customer experiences that meet needs and exceed expectations.

“By implementing the ‘Services 360’ policy, we reaffirm our commitment to realising the vision of the wise leadership to provide integrated and proactive digital services that make people’s lives easier. We adopt agile and effective business models that support Dubai’s competitiveness and global leadership in quality of life and government excellence. We enhance the customer experience by integrating advanced technologies such as generative artificial intelligence and data analytics, alongside seamless integration between government entities, in line with Dubai’s vision for comprehensive government integration,” said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA.

“The ‘Sun Power’ and ‘Easy Connect’ initiatives have streamlined processes between customers and DEWA, reducing service delivery steps by up to 75% and completion times by as much as 50%, providing significant benefits to consultants and contractors. These improvements have directly accelerated the rollout of investment projects in Dubai, increasing investors’ annual returns by approximately AED 414 million, and generating annual savings of more than AED 120 million for customers. These achievements have also helped raise the customer happiness index to 98.9%,” added Al Tayer.

The ‘Sun Power’ initiative streamlines the process of obtaining solar energy services and connecting photovoltaic systems to DEWA’s electricity network under the Shams Dubai initiative. It provides a fully digital experience — from submitting applications and reviewing designs to approvals and connection — while ensuring the highest standards of efficiency, safety and quality.

The ‘Easy Connect’ initiative aims to streamline electricity and water services for contractors, consultants and investors. DEWA has unified procedures related to electricity and water network requests through a single digital platform, saving time and effort while pre-identifying network modification needs. This simplifies the customer journey into clear, fast and automated steps.
