KARACHI: Meezan Bank, Pakistan’s first and largest Islamic bank, held the launch event of its history book, Unconventional – The Bank No One Saw Coming, in Karachi. The author, business leaders, dignitaries, and members of the Bank’s senior management attended this exclusive event. Mr. Saleem Ullah – Deputy Governor, State Bank of Pakistan graced the event as the Guest of Honour. Eminent personalities including Dr. Ishrat Husain, Mr. Atif Bajwa, Mr. Shehzad Naqvi, and Mr. David Kenney spoke about their experiences with Meezan Bank and shared their reflections on the Bank’s remarkable journey.
This landmark publication traces Meezan Bank’s journey from being only a concept to its position today as one of the leading banks in Pakistan as well as a global trendsetter in Islamic banking. It captures defining moments, strategic initiatives, and the values that shaped its growth.
The book has been authored by Mr. Sibtain Naqvi, an independent researcher and writer specializing in institutional and cultural history, whose work has also been presented at Oxford, Cambridge, Columbia, and other international universities.
