NOORI, a social initiative dedicated to women empowerment and advocacy, in collaboration with the Karachi Press Club (KPC), hosted a transformative mental health awareness session on Saturday, September 20, focused on breaking the silence surrounding mental health and promoting open conversations in society.
The session was attended by a diverse audience, including women and youth, professionals, business owners, students, and social activists, all committed to learning, engaging, and supporting mental health advocacy.
The program featured Dr. Kareem Khuwaja, who delivered an insightful talk on mental health awareness, highlighting strategies for coping with stress, anxiety, and other challenges. Pirah Aijaz, Digital Activist and Founder of NOORI, shared her personal case study of coping with mental health challenges, inspiring attendees through her story of resilience and empowerment.
A dynamic Q&A session followed, allowing participants to engage directly with the speakers and gain practical advice. Certificates were also distributed to volunteers who contributed to community outreach efforts.
The event was made possible with the support of HAM Global, PhoneMed Care, and Shaan-e-Reem, whose collaboration played a crucial role in raising awareness and reaching a wider audience.
The session was concluded by senior journalist Nasir Aijaz, who emphasized the role of media in shaping narratives around mental health and urged consistent advocacy to dismantle stigma and promote empathy across society.
