KARACHI: Over 400 senior citizens, adults, youth and children came together to celebrate healthy ageing, intergenerational solidarity and community wellbeing at the VCare Healthy & Active Ageing Community Carnival 2026, organized by VCare Social Welfare Society – A Center for Ageing & Wellbeing.
The vibrant carnival brought together people of all ages, creating a joyful and inclusive environment where generations connected through laughter, music, games, food and shared experiences.

The event was attended by distinguished government representatives from the Social Welfare and Human Rights departments, a Member of the Provincial Assembly of Sindh, representatives of corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives, donors, heads of organizations, community leaders and key stakeholders who collaborated with VCare throughout 2026.
Their participation reflected growing recognition of the importance of healthy and active ageing, dignity, social inclusion and collective responsibility towards older persons in Pakistan.
VCare Launches Its Official Healthy Ageing Song
A major highlight of the carnival was the official launch of VCare’s Healthy Ageing Song, celebrating the spirit of ageing with dignity, hope, resilience, love and respect.

The song carries VCare’s message that ageing is a natural part of life and that every individual deserves opportunities to remain active, connected, valued and respected throughout their life.
A Celebration Across Generations
The carnival featured an exciting range of activities, including traditional games, Tambola, Mehndi, food stalls, music, entertainment and nostalgic gadgets and memorabilia from the 1970s and 1980s.
The nostalgic displays brought back cherished memories for older generations while introducing children and young people to the lifestyles, traditions and experiences of earlier decades.

The atmosphere was filled with happiness, laughter and meaningful intergenerational interaction, demonstrating that age is no barrier to joy, friendship, participation and belonging.
The celebration reflected the values of happiness, hope, resilience, dignity, respect, care and love, which remain at the heart of VCare’s mission.
Building Partnerships for a More Age-Inclusive Pakistan
Beyond the festivities, the carnival served as an important platform for networking, collaboration and community engagement.
Several new connections were established among government representatives, civil society organizations, CSR partners, donors and community stakeholders, opening opportunities for future partnerships and support for older persons.
These connections will help strengthen VCare’s ongoing efforts in residential care, adult day care, health and wellbeing, community outreach, capacity building and advocacy for healthy ageing.
Ms. Fatima Khalfan, Founder and Chairperson of VCare Social Welfare Society, shared, “Healthy ageing is not only about adding years to life; it is about adding happiness, dignity, purpose, care and meaningful connections to those years.
Today, we witnessed the beauty of bringing generations together. Our seniors smiled, our children played, our youth connected, and our communities celebrated together.
This carnival was more than an event. It was a celebration of humanity, resilience, inclusion and love. We are grateful to our government representatives, partners, donors, volunteers and every individual who joined us.
Together, we can build a Pakistan where every older person is valued, respected, supported and never left behind.”
Moving from Awareness to Action
The Healthy & Active Ageing Community Carnival 2026 reinforces VCare’s commitment to promoting age-friendly communities, intergenerational solidarity and inclusive opportunities for older persons.
The event also highlighted the importance of collective action by government, civil society, the private sector and communities to address the evolving needs of Pakistan’s ageing population.
VCare believes that healthy ageing is everyone’s responsibility, and that building a caring society begins by connecting generations today.
