KARACHI: L’Oréal Pakistan has secured first position in the “Sustainability Award – Four Pillars of Excellence” category for small and medium sized enterprises at the Global Compact Network Pakistan (GCNP) Sustainability Awards 2026.
This recognition reflects the alignment of L’Oréal’s operations and strategies with the ten universally accepted principles of the United Nations (UN) Global Compact in the areas of human rights, labour, the environment and anti-corruption, as well as its contribution to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). L’Oréal Groupe has been a member of the UN Global Compact since 2003 and has been consistently recognised as a UN Global Compact LEAD company for embedding the SDGs into its core strategy.
Rehan Saeed, Executive General Manager and CEO of L’Oréal Pakistan said: “L’Oréal believes in using beauty as a force for good. We will continue to empower women by building their capabilities, creating sustainable livelihood opportunities, and advocating for safe, inclusive spaces where they can thrive.”
The Beauty for a Better Life training programme in Pakistan, supported by Fondation L’Oréal and run with the Depilex SmileAgain Foundation, has equipped survivors of domestic violence and acid attacks with skills in beauty and hairstyling to pursue dignified livelihoods and rebuild their lives. In addition, thousands of women have gained vocational beauty skills to support sustainable employment opportunities.
The Digital Literacy Program, supported by the L’Oréal Fund for Women and implemented with CIRCLE, provides women with the digital and financial skills needed to grow their home-based microbusinesses.
Further, the L’Oréal Paris brand cause Stand Up Against Street Harassment, in collaboration with Bedari, continues to raise awareness of safe intervention methods and help make public spaces safer for women.
On sustainability, the Groupe’s L’Oréal for the Future programme guides progress across four pillars: stewarding the climate transition, safeguarding nature, driving circularity and supporting communities. Through its Inclusive Sourcing programme, L’Oréal partners with suppliers to create employment and business opportunities for people from vulnerable or underrepresented communities, contributing to a more resilient supply chain.
