KARACHI: The National Peace Council of Pakistan (NPCP) has appointed Dr. Nusrat Laghari as Director Planning & Development (P&D) for Pakistan. The Council issued an official notification in this regard on September 22, 2026, through its Secretary Administration.
In her new capacity, Dr. Laghari will oversee and contribute to planning and development initiatives of the National Peace Council, with a focus on promoting peace, national unity, social harmony, community development and constructive engagement.
Dr. Nusrat Laghari has extensive experience in leadership, strategic planning, community development, women’s empowerment, engagement with overseas Pakistanis, and social and welfare services. Her work in Pakistan and the United States has included initiatives concerning women and youth, education, professional development and community welfare.
Commenting on her appointment, Dr. Laghari thanked the National Peace Council of Pakistan for reposing confidence in her and entrusting her with the responsibility. She said she would utilise her experience in planning and development to support meaningful initiatives for peace, unity, social harmony and sustainable community development in Pakistan.
She also expressed her commitment to promoting constructive community engagement and contributing to efforts aimed at building a peaceful, cohesive and socially inclusive society.
