Novo Nordisk Pakistan wins 7th National CSR Award

KARACHI: The prevalence of diabetes in Pakistan is increasing at an alarming rate. Hence, awareness and education about diabetes has become vital to deal with this rising pandemic.

“At Novo Nordisk Pakistan, we dedicate our efforts to improve the lives of people with diabetes by creating mass awareness in the country. Our campaign with Wasim Akram, a real-life achiever with diabetes, is a strong example that diabetes does not stop you from achieving your dreams”. These thoughts were expressed by Rashed Rafique, General Manager Novo Nordisk Pakistan at 7th National CSR Awards held in Karachi.

For the third consecutive year, Novo Nordisk Pakistan has been awarded with National Corporate Social Responsibility Award in the category of cause advocacy and awareness. The award was conferred in recognition of the large scale public awareness campaign by Novo Nordisk with its Brand Ambassador for changing diabetes®, Wasim Akram. The campaign yielded significant results by reaching out to more than 90 million people and spreading the message “Diabetes cannot stop you from achieving your dreams” through electronic, print and social media. “Having Wasim Akram as our partner in fight against diabetes has proven to be significant as he is an inspiration for people; in particular, people with diabetes and we hope to expand our efforts for the same.”, says Rashed.
