ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s leading digital bank, easypaisa, in collaboration with the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) and the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), has undertaken a significant step toward digitizing various consumer payment touchpoints at Islamabad International Airport, reinforcing its transition to a cashless, future-ready travel ecosystem.

In a ceremony held at the Islamabad International Airport, with Chief Guest Air Vice Marshal Zeeshan Saeed, Director General, Pakistan Airports Authority, the event was also attended by easypaisa’s leadership, including Farhan Hassan, Chief Digital Officer, and Shahzad Khan, Chief Business Officer, along with dignitaries and stakeholders from the Pakistan Airports Authority and Islamabad Airport Management.

As part of the digitization drive, easypaisa has deployed QR codes across major consumer touchpoints, enabling the airport’s millions of annual visitors to make seamless QR and digital wallet-based payments.

Underscoring easypaisa and PAA’s shared commitment to advancing financial inclusion and strengthening Pakistan’s digital economy, Air Vice Marshal Zeeshan Saeed, Director General, Pakistan Airports Authority, commented, “It is encouraging to see the role private sector entities are playing in digitizing the economy and enabling a cashless ecosystem in line with the national agenda.
