KARACHI: The Pakistan Cardiac Society (PCS) Karachi Chapter held a landmark strategic session today, “Clinical Innovation & Strategic Continuity,” at the Tabba Heart Institute. The event served as a critical platform for cardiovascular leaders to align on a transformative roadmap for heart health in 2026.
The proceedings were expertly guided by Dr. Aliya Kemal Ahsan, who served as the Master of Ceremony, Moderator, and lead orator. In addition to her role as moderator, Dr. Ahsan spearheaded one of the afternoon’s most anticipated moments: the official launch of “The Karachi Beat.” In her capacity as Editor, Dr. Ahsan unveiled this premier E-Bulletin platform, which is designed to streamline clinical communication and share cutting-edge research across the cardiology community.

The core strategic direction of the chapter was established through a series of pivotal presentations by the society’s top leadership. Dr. Akram Sultan, serving as Coordinator, opened the formal segment by setting a bold strategic vision for 2026, focusing on institutional growth and professional excellence. This vision was immediately translated into an actionable framework by Dr. Riffat Sultana, General Secretary of the PCS Karachi Chapter, who presented a detailed Operational Road Map for 2026, outlining the chapter’s future activities and structural goals. The clinical agenda was further strengthened by Dr. Bashir Hanif, who delivered a compelling presentation on the “Impact Clinical Agenda,” stressing the urgent need for research-driven cardiovascular prevention. Providing the academic and senior perspective, Prof. Fawad Farooq shared keynote insights that reinforced the necessity of clinical innovation and evidence-based practice in the years to come.
The session also underscored institutional solidarity, with key addresses from Dr. Salman Ghauri (GS-PIMA Pakistan) and Dr. Ismail Memon (Pres.-PMA Karachi) regarding inter-organizational cooperation between PMA, PIMA, and the PCS. Additional expert contributions were provided by senior leaders Dr. Mansoor Ahmed, Dr. Khan Shah E Zaman, Dr. Najma Patel, Prof. Dr. Hasanat Sharif Dr khalida Somroo, Dr. Hasssnat Sharif , and Dr. Gul Hassan Brohi.
The program concluded with an interactive Q&A session focused on collaborative planning for upcoming workshops, followed by closing remarks from Mr.Khalid from BMJ Pakistan. The event closed with an official group portrait of all Karachi Chapter members, symbolizing a unified commitment to the future of cardiology.
