KARACHI: Bacha Khan University, Charsadda (KP), has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the International Centre for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS), University of Karachi.
A spokesman for ICCBS at the University of Karachi said on Friday that the MoU was executed through the exchange of signed documents via courier. The MoU was signed by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Raza Shah, Director ICCBS, and Prof. Dr. Khan Alam, Vice Chancellor of Bacha Khan University, on behalf of their respective institutions.
The primary objective of the MoU is to develop academic cooperation and promote mutual understanding between the two institutions.
Prof. Dr. Muhammad Raza Shah said that ICCBS is one of the eminent research establishments in the region. Its academic and research capacity can be gauged from the fact that it runs the largest doctoral program in Pakistan.
He added that this institutional strength has elevated ICCBS as a leading center of excellence in chemical, biological, and biochemical sciences, serving as a hub for research and training scholars from various countries. He further said that ICCBS has been designated as a Centre of Excellence by UNESCO, WHO, TWAS, and the OIC.
It is pertinent to mention that Bacha Khan University is a premier institution dedicated to excellence in education, research, and community service. The university is committed to providing accessible, high-quality education and nurturing scholars who can address contemporary global challenges.
According to the MoU, both institutions will collaborate to facilitate the exchange of faculty members, researchers, and experts for research, teaching, and knowledge sharing. They also agreed to conduct joint research programs and develop collaborative proposals for submission to relevant national and international funding agencies.
The agreement will further provide opportunities for faculty members and researchers to participate in conferences, symposia, seminars, and workshops organized by either institution.
