DUBAI: The Women Committee of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) organised a series of awareness lectures during the Holy Month of Ramadan, aimed at strengthening family and societal bonds. These initiatives sought to promote the noble values embodied by this blessed month, including cohesion, tolerance, respect for cultural diversity and the responsible preservation of blessings and resources. The committee also hosted workshops in collaboration with Huom Culinary Arts Canvas, focusing on local hospitality traditions, essential cooking and baking skills, and the preparation of a diverse range of local and international dishes.

“During the Holy Month of Ramadan, we celebrate our cultural identity by equipping female employees with practical skills that reflect a harmonious blend of authentic local heritage and contemporary creativity, while keeping pace with the rhythm of life in this blessed month that embodies the highest values of compassion, generosity and goodwill. Throughout the UAE’s ‘Year of Family’, we are keen to empower female employees to achieve balance between their professional and personal lives and encourage them to invest their time in strengthening family, social and professional connections. We also place great emphasis on preserving national identity and passing on our cultural heritage to future generations in a modern and meaningful manner,” said Fatima Al Jokar, Chairperson of the DEWA Women’s Committee.
More than 200 female employees from various DEWA divisions participated in these events. Participants commended the activities and initiatives organised by the Women’s Committee to strengthen communal bonds and shared human values.
