A dignified and intellectually rich book launch ceremony for “Bazgasht-e-Daroon”, the poetry collection of talented poet Muhammad Nasim Mehnavi, was held in Karachi under the auspices of the Khudi Foundation. The event was attended by prominent literary figures, intellectuals, and members of the literary and cultural community from across the country.
The ceremony was presided over by Dr. Syed Taqi Abidi, an internationally recognized scholar, critic, and researcher of Urdu literature. Dr. Abidi is widely regarded as a leading authority in the fields of literary research, textual editing, and critic. His presidential address lent the event exceptional academic gravitas and intellectual depth.

The Chief Guest of the event was Mahmood Ahmed Khan, a well-known literary and social figure recognized for his longstanding association with literary and intellectual circles.
The opening remarks were delivered by Sarwat Shah, a prominent business and social personality of Karachi, who spoke with deep emotion about her father’s literary journey and the background of the publication. Participants described the book as a rare and meaningful gift from a daughter to her father—one that any parent would take pride in.
Critical discussion on the book was presented by distinguished literary figures Shakeel Jafri, Aftab Alam Qureshi, Zaigham Rizvi, Kausar Abbas, and Salman Siddiqui and Iqbal Qureshi.
The speakers unanimously described Muhammad Nasim Mehnavi as an outstanding ghazal poet of lived experience, emphasizing that his poetry reflects genuine emotion, free from artificiality or stylistic pretension.
According to the speakers, Bazgasht-e-Daroon is not merely a collection of poems but a distinctive literary document shaped by personal experiences, family narratives, and inner reflections. The ghazals and poems mirror the poet’s intellectual insight, emotional depth, and scholarly consciousness, offering readers an intimate engagement with both the poet’s inner world and the existential questions of contemporary life.
The proceedings were skillfully moderated by Shazleen Wahidi and Shakeel Jafri, whose articulate and seamless presentation ensured continuity and engagement throughout the session.
The ceremony was held on Saturday, December 27, at 6:00 PM at the PACC Auditorium, Karachi, and was attended by a large number of poets, scholars, intellectuals, and literature enthusiasts from the city.
At the conclusion of the event, participants praised the efforts of the Khudi Foundation, the organizers, and particularly Sarwat Shah, acknowledging Bazgasht-e-Daroon as a serious and meaningful addition to contemporary Urdu poetry.
