Embracing the spirit of compassion, inclusion, and interfaith harmony, LADIESFUND, an initiative of Dawood Global Foundation (DGF), distributed nearly 200 food rations to the Christian community this Christmas under its flagship Bhook Mitao initiative. The distribution was held at The Buraq Center by LADIESFUND, reaffirming the organization’s commitment to ensuring that no family goes hungry regardless of faith.
The heartfelt initiative brought together a distinguished group of supporters and community leaders, including renowned activist Sheema Kermani, MPA Matiari Makhdoom Fakhar Zaman, acclaimed model Rubya Chaudhry, along with Bhook Mitao Ambassadors, Patrons, and representatives from the local community. Their presence reflected a shared commitment to humanity, solidarity, and social responsibility.
Maintaining strict transparency and respect for religious principles, all food rations distributed to minority families were funded through Sadqah, while Zakat, distributed earlier the same day, was reserved exclusively for eligible Muslim beneficiaries. This careful distinction underscored LADIESFUND’s ethical approach and adherence to faith-based guidelines.
Speaking on the occasion, Tara Uzra Dawood, President of LADIESFUND, said: “through Bhook Mitao, our mission is simple yet powerful to ensure that no family sleeps hungry while honoring Pakistan’s rich diversity. To date, we have distributed 36,500 food rations, and we invite everyone to join us in scaling this impact further.”
The evening resonated with warmth, unity, and festive joy, enhanced by messages of support from Sheema Kermani and other community allies. A beautifully arranged Christmas tree by Sarfraz Dennis Naseer added a symbolic touch of celebration and hope.
