SUKKUR: Lok Sahita has achieved a notable milestone within a short span of one year by successfully organizing the 2nd Marathon in Sukkur under the leadership of its Chairman, Syed Pir Muhammad Shah.
The marathon, “A Run for Hope,” witnessed participation from all provinces of Pakistan as well as athletes from approximately 14 countries, with a total of 3,000 runners including 2,200 men and 800 women.
This World Athletics Certified marathon stands as a strong example of Pakistan’s growing commitment to promoting sports, healthy lifestyles, national unity, and international engagement. Initiatives like this play a vital role in projecting a positive image of Pakistan while inspiring youth participation and engagement through sports.
The closing ceremony was attended by Minister of Culture & Tourism Syed Zulfiqar Shah, Mayor of Sukkur Arsalan Shaikh, along with other officials and notables from different walks of life.
The efforts of the organizing team, supporters, and district government institutions are highly commendable for delivering a well coordinated and impactful international marathon in Sukkur.
