KARACHI: K-Electric continued its city-wide operations to curb electricity theft and safeguard power infrastructure as its teams carried out kunda removal drives across Gulshan Kareem, Paradise City, Bhashmi Para, Eido Garden, Ali Muhammad Goth, and Shah Town, removing over 550 illegal connections that weighed nearly 1,100 kilogrammes.
The illegal connections, which have been the subject of KE’s drives before, are responsible for the loss of nearly 110,000 units of electricity a month, causing losses of around PKR 53 million per year.
K-Electric is committed to improve recoveries and facilitate the transition from illegal to legal connections. Reducing electricity theft and ensuring timely bill payments directly support improved recovery and loss reduction in any area, which are key factors in minimising load-shedding and enabling reliable power supply.
