JEDDAH/KARACHI: The Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Karachi successfully hosted a spectacular Diplomatic Reception at the PC Hotel tonight, a grand event held in celebration of the 80th Anniversary of Indonesian Independence and marking the historic 75th Anniversary of Indonesia-Pakistan Diplomatic Relations, symbolising a significant milestone in friendship and cultural exchange.

H.E. Mr. Mudzakir

The grand event was hosted by the Consul General of Indonesia in Karachi, H.E. Mr. Mudzakir, and was graced by the highest provincial leadership. The Governor of Sindh, Mr. Kamran Khan Tessori, attended alongside the Honourable Chief Minister of Sindh, Mr. Syed Murad Ali Shah, with both adding immense weight and significance to the diplomatic proceedings.

Consul General Mudzakir welcomed a large gathering of dignitaries, government officials, corporate leaders, and members of the diplomatic corps, emphasising that the reception was centred on the theme of “75 Years of Indonesia-Pakistan Mutual Growth and Trust.” He highlighted the deep historical bonds and growing economic and cultural cooperation between the two nations, using the event as a powerful platform to reinforce mutual commitment to peace and prosperity in the region.

In his address, Consul General Mudzakir stated, “The story of Indonesia and Pakistan is one of a shared destiny – a partnership reflecting the strength of South-South cooperation and Islamic solidarity. Together, we look forward to translating our mutual trust into tangible, sustainable progress for both nations. We are also deeply grateful to our partners, Emirates Airlines, Gerry’s Visa, and Polani Travels, for helping us bring the dream of visiting Indonesia closer to six lucky guests.”

A highlight of the evening was the mesmerising display of traditional Indonesian culture. Guests were captivated by the energetic and graceful ‘Tari Piring’ (Plate Dance), a vibrant performance originating from West Sumatra. The performance, executed with intricate choreography, showcased the rich artistic heritage, drawing enthusiastic applause from the attendees.

To further promote tourism and foster people-to-people connections, the Consulate gratefully recognised the support of its key partners. Emirates Airlines, Gerry’s Visa, and Polani Travels generously sponsored six return flight tickets to Indonesia, which were awarded to lucky attendees during the evening’s festivities.

The event was widely hailed as a vibrant success, seamlessly blending diplomatic formalities with cultural celebration, and concluding on a high note that promised continued strong collaboration between the Republic of Indonesia and the Province of Sindh.
