KARACHI: In a landmark webinar hosted by the Pakistan USA Business Council FPCCI, Mr. Mohammad Hanif Channa, Minister (Trade & Investment) at the Embassy of Pakistan in the USA, called on Pakistani exporters to capitalize on the country’s unprecedented tariff advantage in the U.S. market—describing it as a “game-changing opportunity” for national economic growth.

Shaikh Imtiaz Hussain, Chairman of the Pakistan USA Business Council (FPCCI), said,“This is the right time to transform our trade relationship with the United States into a deeper, more result-oriented partnership. We are committed to converting opportunities into contracts, and partnerships into prosperity.”

Addressing a live audience of business leaders and exporters in a session titled “Leveraging U.S. Duty Structures for Pakistani Exporters,” Mr. Channa highlighted that Pakistan currently enjoys the lowest duty rates in the entire region, a direct outcome of the Government of Pakistan’s successful strategic negotiations with the Trump Administration.

“This is a moment of competitive advantage that must not go to waste,” Mr. Channa stated. “With our regional rivals facing higher tariffs, Pakistani exporters—especially in textiles—have a clear pathway to capture a larger share of the U.S. import market.”

The Minister also underscored growing American investor interest in key sectors such as mining and minerals, information technology, and value-added processing industries, noting that these areas hold strong potential for joint ventures and knowledge transfer.

Mr. Channa emphasized the need for a strategic shift in Pakistan’s export approach, urging businesses to move beyond raw material exports and focus on high-standard, value-added products. He particularly pointed to rising U.S. demand for gems and jewelry, mango pulp, sports goods, and surgical instruments, and recommended that Pakistani trade bodies organize sector-specific delegations to the United States.
“The Embassy stands ready to facilitate B2B engagements and support Pakistani businesses in building lasting trade partnerships with their U.S. counterparts,” he affirmed.
The webinar concluded with a renewed commitment from both the Embassy of Pakistan and the Pakistan USA Business Council to work hand-in-hand to strengthen bilateral trade, enhance export readiness, and translate policy gains into sustainable commercial success.
