KARACHI: From the 17th to the 20th of June, the Italian frigate Antonio Marceglia will make a port call in Karachi, as part of her operational projection campaign in the Indo-Pacific region. During the stay In the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the Marceglia will be visited by the Italian Ambassador in Pakistan, H.E. Marilina Armellin, who will address her welcome greeting to the crew. The stop in Pakistan of the Italian Frigate Marceglia is an integral part of the strategic objectives of her projection campaign, focused on naval diplomacy activities.
The Frigate’s deployment in the Indo-Pacific region reaffirms the desire of the Italian Defence to consolidate the national presence and international cooperation in the area, the valorization of the ‘Sistema Italia’ in technological, industrial and cultural terms and the promotion of the Italian Defence industrial excellence. In this context, on June 17th the frigate will host an Industry Day, which will bring together partners and local authorities.
On Friday June 20th, the Italian ship will conduct a ‘Passex’ exercise with a Pakistan Navy unit, a joint training exercise between the two countries’ navies to test crew readiness and the efficiency of their respective assets and equipment.
