DUBAI: Celebrating the 53rd UAE Eid Al Etihad on 2nd December, Dubai Duty Free marked the occasion on Wednesday, 27th November with all departments coming together for a programme of activities at the company’s Head Office in Umm Ramool.

Part of the company’s warehouse was completely transformed to an Arabic Majlis where the celebrations were officially opened by Managing Director, Ramesh Cidambi and Deputy Managing Director, Salah Tahlak.

As part of the celebrations, the Dubai Duty Free executives and employees enjoyed an authentic Emirati exhibition and activities which showcased the UAE’s rich traditions, architecture, and history with live displays of Emirati culture including Arabic calligraphy, henna decoration, falconry, and traditional Emirati cuisine.

The main office reception and first floor were also decorated in Emirati themes while food and drinks were served including a live halwa station and an Emirati flavoured ice cream station.

Speaking on celebration, Ramesh Cidambi said, “On the occasion of the 53rd UAE Eid Al Etihad, we take pride in what this country has achieved over the years and this celebration is a perfect way of recognising what the UAE has given to all of us. Thanks to our HR team for organising this authentic celebration of UAE traditions.”

UAE Eid Al Etihad is celebrated on 2nd December to mark the union of the seven emirates, and this year, the event that represents the country’s remarkable journey towards unity and development was renamed Eid Al Etihad. The decision to change this important day also fits with the UAE’s story, the need to emphasize its founding values, and the further development of the idea of creating comfortable conditions for life and recreation for every citizen and guest of the country.
