Tooba Charity App Expands to Malaysia to Support Indigenous Communities

DUBAI: Tooba, a leading charitable crowdfunding app, has announced its official launch in Malaysia in partnership with the Global Peace Foundation Malaysia. This collaboration aims to revolutionize digital philanthropy in the country, providing Malaysian citizens with the ability to support indigenous populations directly through their smartphones.

Currently, the app is raising funds to support the Orang Asli, Malaysia’s indigenous people, with a population of nearly 210,000,000 individuals living in rural areas who require social and basic household assistance. Tooba users with access to international payment systems can contribute to initiatives such as building community schools for children, installation of  solar powered water pumps, providing  solar electrification systems , and supplying other essential resources to improve the community’s quality of life.

Founded in Dagestan in 2018, Tooba has facilitated the transfer of more than 26 million dollars to charitable organizations over the years. The app has partnered with over 100 charitable organizations across Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, the UAE, and the USA.

In 2023, Tooba expanded its presence in the UAE by opening an office in Dubai. This strategic move allowed the app to establish key partnerships, including a collaboration with the Al Jalila Foundation, a renowned organization founded by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE. This partnership has enabled Tooba to further its reach within the region, and the Malaysian initiative was met with enthusiasm, as local representatives were already familiar with Tooba through its ambassador, UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov.

“Malaysia is one of the most rapidly developing countries in the world, with immense potential in the field of philanthropy. We are proud to collaborate with the Global Peace Foundation Malaysia, an organization that shares our values and commitment to helping people without borders. This new project will allow us not only to support the Orang Asli but also to open doors for further collaboration in the region,” said Tooba CEO Ramazan Medjidov.
