KARACHI: The Indonesian Consul General in Karachi held an appointment for the Dean of the Diplomatic Community in Karachi at Wisma Indonesia, Clifton (consul general residence) on 12 July 2023. The Indonesian Consul General in Karachi Dr. June Kuncoro Hadiningrat has been agreed to be appointed as Dean for the Consul Generals and the Diplomatic Corps in Karachi. The activity was attended by the Deputy Director General of Protkons for Representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan in Karachi and Consul Generals from China, Malaysia, Qatar, Bangladesh, France, Russia, Germany, Sri Lanka, Iran, South Korea, Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and the consuls from Oman, Turkiye, and Japan.
In his remarks, the Indonesian Consul General in Karachi expressed his gratitude for the trust given by the Consul Generals in Karachi and will try to facilitate the establishment of a good diplomatic community in Karachi.
Furthermore, the handover was carried out from the previous Dean, Consul General of Qatar Mr. Misha M. Al Anshari to the Indonesian Consul General Karachi. The Qatar Consul General himself has served as Dean in Karachi for 3 years and 2 months and has served more than 6 years in Karachi. The Indonesian Consul General in Karachi gave a souvenir to the Consul General in Qatar as a token of appreciation for his good services as Dean in Karachi diplomatic circles. In presence, after the Qatar Consul General, the Dean’s next position should be Ambassador Salem Alhamdan, the Kuwait Consul General who has been serving in Karachi for a long time. However, he refused, considering that in the next 2-3 months he would complete his assignment in Karachi, so this position was handed over to the Indonesian Consul General in Karachi who had only served 2 years in Karachi.
