KARACHI/DUBAI: To Support Chefs in Pakistan, The Leaders Club of Biz Today International hosted International Chefs Summit 2023 on Wednesday, 7th June 2023 at the Marriott Hotel, Karachi. Theme of this International Chefs Summit 2023 was INNOVATION ♦ STANDARD ♦ FUTURE.

he summit represented an unparalleled gathering of food & beverage fraternity focusing on cutting-edge innovations and intelligent learning. this event covered the groundbreaking innovations, trends and insights that are revolutionizing the future of F&B and HORECA sectors.

As per standard format, event kicked off Uffaira Anis Saad took control of the event as moderator. She invited first speaker of the evening Chef Farah spoke briefly on the topic of food safety and lack of training/awareness on this subject. She emphasized on the need of HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point), which is an internationally recognized standard that defines the requirements for the effective control of food safety.

Next up was Sabir Ahmed, Director College of Tourism and Hotel Management (COTHM), who spoke about self-hygiene which starts from self and then you can talk about hygiene. According to him, COTHM has doing well and is serving the hospitality sector within this region and also middle-east. Right now we don’t want any of our students un-employed.

Special guest of the evening was International Chef Abidin from Indonesia. Chef Abidin is currently working with Indonesian Consulate here in Karachi and can prepare almost any type of cuisines and just in-case if not, then he can learn as fast as possible.

Chef Saima Maqbool, a well renowned Chef & Culinary Art Teacher spoke of the positive role that Chefs in any society can play. She said; “Chefs can inspire other chef”.

Mairaj Qureshi, CEO of Macca Foods raised his concerned over Halal Food being mostly supplied from countries like Brazil and Australia. He said; “we as Muslims know what Halal Food is and very surprisingly non-muslims countries are leading suppliers of Halal Meat. I can assure you that Halal meat is the top most quality meat, if it is not halal then I cannot be of top most quality. Halal slaughter drains all the blood from the animal as blood carry’s all the diseases”.

Shaikh Tehseen, CEO of United King and Noman Ahmedani & Shabana Ahmedani, Rafiq Vayani also shared their views relating to subject.

Chief Guest of the evening was Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia His Excellency Dr. June Kuncoro Hadiningrat and he shared his views by praising Pakistani’s, he said; “I must appreciate Pakistanis who are positive during these hard and testing times”.

Sharing his thoughts he said; “there are Pakistani restaurants in Indonesia, but not vice versa, we don’t have any Indonesian Restaurant here in Karachi nor in any other part of Pakistan, this this be looked into by Pakistani businessmen”.
