I (Amna Shariq Siddiqui, the owner of an event planning brand named Khushiyan.Pk) had the honour of attending Gulfood 2023 with very well known home-based entrepreneurs namely Huma Wasti, Kiran Yousuf ,Farheen Merchant, Azra Muneer and Sarah Farhan.
Gulfood is a annual event where people of different cultures, races, nationalities and beliefs gather to celebrate one the most basic and biggest necessities of life, food.
There were designated pavilions for multiple countries. The countries whose pavilion I was able to explore the most were United States America, Turkey, Argentina, Italy and Saudia Arabia. There was even a Pakistani Pavilion there. In it all our amazing Pakistani brands such as Fresh ST, United King, LalQila, National Foods, Shangrila, Hashmi and Mughal Rice etc, were representing themselves on an international level. It was a really a proud moment for me as a Pakistani citizen.
Gulf Foods is an amazing platform where whether it is huge brands or small scale businesses or chefs all can interact and stimulate growth in the food and culinary arts industry through trading (imports/exports) and collaborations. I would highly recommend visiting Gulf Foods to anyone working in the Food industry as it helps in increasing one’s contacts and knowledge with great experiences.
