Portuguese institution inks MoU with ICCBS Technology Park

The Amadora Inova, Portugal, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the ICCBS Technology Park and Incubation Centre, Dr. Panjwani Center for Molecular Medicine and Drug Research (PCMD), University of Karachi (UoK).

According to the spokesman of the International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS), University of Karachi, the purpose of this MoU is to promote mutual understanding and collaboration by supporting startups ecosystem, academic and research activities among Incubation centers, startups and entrepreneurs of the two institutions.

On behalf of their institutions, Prof. Dr. M. Iqbal Choudhary, Director of the International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences, and COMSTECH Coordinator-General, Amadora Inova Chairman Agostinho Marques and Amadora Inova CEO Adelino Serras signed the MoU in an online meeting held recently. Various Portuguese and Pakistani officials, including Mr. Umair Malik, representative from the Embassy of Pakistan in Lisbon – Portugal, also attended the online meeting.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Iqbal Choudhary said “The ICCBS Technology Park and Technology Incubation Center works under the umbrella of Dr. Panjwani Center.”

This Technology Park and Technology Incubation Center provides excellent facilities to start-ups, young entrepreneurs, and research and development units of already established industries in Pakistan, he said, adding that the ICCBS Technology Park and Technology Incubation Center is currently one of the largest incubation centers in the country.

The International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences as a center for excellence owns an international stature in the field of science and research, he said, adding that ICCBS is the only institution in Pakistan that is not only certified by ISO but it also became ‘UNESCO, WHO, OIC, and NAM- S&T Centre for Excellence’.
