Indonesian CG urges joint efforts for promoting bilateral trade with Pakistan

Consul General of Indonesia, H.E Dr. June Kuncoro Hadiningrat, has expressed the desire that bilateral trade with Pakistan should be done to promote by mutual efforts between the two countries. The Free Trade Agreement between Pakistan and Indonesia will definitely be beneficial for both countries.

Indonesian CG expressed these views while addressing the first meeting of Pakistan Indonesia Business Council (PIBC) of FPCCI. Djumara Supriyadi, Consul for Economic Affairs, Irfan Iqbal, President FPCCI, Abid Nisar, Chairman Pakistan-Indonesia Business Council of FPCCI(PIBC), VP FPCCI Shabbir Mansha Churra, VP Shaukat Ali Omerson, former VP Mrs. Nazli Abid Nisar, Tariq Anees, Sultan Rehan, Sohail Nisar, Sameer Gulzar, Zohaib Khan, Mohammad Naseem, Shehbaz, Amjad Sultan and others were also attending the meeting.

The Indonesian Consul General urged the Pakistani business community to increase ties with Indonesian businessmen, and organize B2B meetings. In this regard, the consulate will fully support. To promote bilateral trade with Indonesia, by exporting products that have high demand will have a positive impact on Pakistan’s exports.

Irfan Iqbal, President FPCCI said that the businessmen of both the countries should evaluate the products according to the demand in respective markets and prioritize trade with each other. Currently, one-way trade is more in favor of Indonesia, while Pakistan needs to increase its share in the Indonesian markets in terms of exports.

Earlier, Abid Nisar, Chairman Pakistan-Indonesia Business Council (PIBC), while welcoming the Indonesian Consul General, said that FPCCI is the apex body of trade & industry which has active role in solving the problems faced by the business and industrial community.

“The main objective of the Pakistan Indonesia Business Council is to promote mutual trade, offer its support in finding new trade routes and markets”, Abid adding that the Pakistani business community was looking forward to the conclusion of a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between Pakistan and Indonesia as soon as possible.

PIBC chairman was of the opinion that having an FTA will give Pakistan access to the Indonesian market, and we will be able to export our non-traditional products easily, while also balance the trade between the two countries.
