Banking has evolved at a rapid pace over the course of the 21st Century and there has been a major shift in consumer banking patterns and preferences. Long gone are those days when you would find yourself queuing at your local bank to open an account, make a deposit, transfer money, or cash a cheque. In 2022, the need for digital technology and innovation in banking is needed more than ever to meet the evolving needs of the customers.

With more and more Banks adopting new technology, there’s little sign that the wave of innovation is going to slow down. The potential that IT Companies hold for the future has been heavily showcased and emphasized through various global forums, conferences, and events. One such event is the Temenos Community Forum (TCF) which brings together hundreds of banking professionals, executives, IT & Fintech community, and Temenos partner ecosystem from around the globe to interact and exchange knowledge about the latest trends in banking technology.

Temenos Community Forum 2022 is one of the largest and most prestigious Banking Tech Conferences that took place in person after a gap of 3 years. The event was held from 17-19th May 2022 at the world’s financial city, London, and was attended by over 1500 banking professionals from across the globe. It is heartening to note that this year’s TCF was attended by professionals from leading banks of Pakistan such as HBL, UBL, Bank of Punjab, JS Bank, Bank Alfalah, and Meezan Bank.

This forum not only brought together banking professionals from across the globe but also provided a huge opportunity for Temenos partners and Fintech’s to showcase their offerings. NdcTech, a leading IT & Consultancy company that has a long-standing partnership of 22 years with Temenos also represented Pakistan at this global forum. Sakina Tahir, Marketing Manager, NdcTech represented her company at the event and narrated her experience, “The services that NdcTech provides are no less than what other global IT Companies are offering. In fact, while other service providers offer services to sectors other than banking, NdcTech provides dedicated services to the banking and finance sector and only deals in Temenos products and related innovations.”

The partnership of NdcTech & Temenos is a success story in itself. In its 22 years of operations, NdcTech has been successful in transforming more than 100 Banks and Financial Institutions in Middle East, Africa, & APAC region. The company is known for providing cutting edge services such as Core Modernization, Digital Banking services, Managed services, & Banking on the cloud. The interest which was shown by numerous Banks in NdcTech’s services and innovations was inspiring and proved the capabilities of Pakistan’s IT sector.

The event was a hub for connectivity and innovation where recent trends and evolving business models in banking were discussed. Banking as a Service (BaaS), Software as a Service, Banking as a platform, embedded finance, and cloud banking were few of the key themes discussed throughout the event. Although the banking industry has always been positioned as something archaic, the future of banking is definitely on an exciting trajectory.

Apart from partners and banking professionals, various analyst firms such as Finextra & Fintech Finance were also present at the event. NdcTech’s CEO & President, Ammara Masood was featured in an exclusive interview by Fintech Finance, where she highlighted the different models evolving in the banking sector such as banking as a service, digital and challenger banks, and EMIs.

“We have seen the evolution of global business models in banking, including digital banks, Fintechs working as Electronic Money Institutions, and traditional banks launching innovative digital services. At NdcTech we are able to equip these banks with different capabilities, based on the model they choose and this is exciting as we are able to provide Banks the value they need,” Ammara further added: “I am really excited to see the whole Temenos community together and we are getting to network with professionals from different Banks, Fintechs & partner companies that makes us understand what is really happening in banking.”
