The cast and crew of Sarmad Khoosat’s Kamli make their way to Karachi for the premiere of the upcoming feature film. Khoosat’s femicentric directorial, Kamli, explores a series of themes including love, loss, and cloaked secrets. Kamli is co-written by Sarmad Khoosat and the extremely gifted Fatima Sattar, beautifully shot by Awais Gohar and co-produced with attention to every little detail by Kanwal Khoosat and Sarmad Khoosat. Kamli is distributed by Distribution Club by IMGC.
Khoosat brings together a stellar cast of Pakistani superstars such as Saba Qamar, Nimra Bucha & Sania Saeed as the leading ladies in the film. Each of the project’s stars is known for her illustrious career in film and television.
Saba Qamar while being a headliner in Pakistan also starred alongside Irrfan Khan in her Bollywood debut Hindi Medium, Nimra Bucha is on the brink of international fame with a starring role in the upcoming Miss Marvel series, and Sania Saeed has been Pakistan’s sweetheart since the 1990s, given her award-winning performances and widespread popularity. The male cast of the film features the dashing Omair Rana in a pivotal role and Hamza Khawaja debuts as the quintessential hero opposite Saba Qamar.
Kamli also boasts of a beautiful soundtrack created by the über talented Saad Sultan. Consisting of 6 songs featuring an eclectic mix of voices, the music album provides quite a range; from superstar Atif Aslam’s “Mukhra”, the melodious Zeb Bangash’s “Kaash” and the soulful “Mainu Tu” in the celestial voice of the queen of folk music, late Reshma Ji, to 3 more tracks by up and coming music sensations including the romantic “Naina” by Sohail Shahzad, the magical “Paani” by Zenab Fatimah Sultan and the empowering dance number “Agg” by Amna Rahi featuring Zeb Bangash.
