Malaysia Pavilion offers special discounts on all retail items until end of Expo 2020 Dubai

With Expo 2020 Dubai coming to an end in just over a week’s time, this is the last chance for visitors to grab the official Malaysia Pavilion merchandise and unique  crafts and souvenirs.

The pavilion’s retail kiosks located outside the Malaysia Cafe offer up to 40 per cent discounts on items from clothing to crafts and visitors can be assured that their purchases contribute to a good cause.

The Malaysia Pavilion special merchandise and products are produced with sustainable material as well as those by social entrepreneurs that develop the items to aid communities. The kiosks feature sustainable and eco-friendly products with something for everyone. Among the various premium merchandise available are Malaysia Pavilion t-shirts sporting the logo of the #MyButterflyEffect campaign that promotes sustainability and a greener future. Other merchandise includes powerbanks, keychains, reusable cutlery and straw sets and laptop bags.

As a special gift for loved ones, the retail store offers award winning home spa products from the Tanamera brand. The products include body soaps, scrubs, massage oils, face mists and baby shampoos are all made from raw materials sourced from rich and luscious tropical rainforests and based on Asian tropical spa treatments. Each item is free of toxic chemicals, artificial colouring and fragrances, making it safe to use on any skin type.

Highlighting Malaysia’s tradition, Karyaneka offers a wide collection of decorative and souvenir items reflecting Malaysia’s ethnic and cultural heritage. The craft centre owned by Kraftangan Malaysia, an agency under the Ministry of Tourism Malaysia, offers batik cloths, scarves, woodcarvings, bookmarks, key chains, purses, passport holders and a variety of home décor items from across Malaysia.

For those who fancy elegant jewellery such as necklaces, earrings, brooches, bracelets and accessories, Fugeelah, a social enterprise which aids children of refugees, is selling various designs including those made from pearl, quartz, jade and malachite.

Another must-have is the creative 3-D artwork from Lokamade featuring places of interest in Malaysia.  At the retail kiosks, visitors will also meet professional Malaysian artisans and craftsmen demonstrating batik painting, bead making and weaving.

To satisfy visitors’ sweet tooth, a Julie’s biscuits is selling its wholesome products available in its signature Peanut Butter Sandwiches, Love Letters, Le-mond Cream Puff Sandwiches, OAT 25, Butter Crackers and more.

Michelle Lau, Malaysia Pavilion Director said: “In line with our Pavilion’s theme of Energising Sustainability, the products at our retail kiosks offer eco-friendly and sustainable products as well as initiatives for the community.

“While it is sad that expo is coming to an end soon, we want to send a bit of the Malaysian spirit and culture home with visitors as a memory of the wonderful memories we’ve made during the mega event. So don’t miss out on these items!”

The retail kiosks are part of the culture and crafts segment at the pavilion, themed Energising Harmony that aims at sharing the vibrant and diverse culture of Malaysia. The pavilion boasts over 1,000 cultural shows and craft demonstrations throughout Expo 2020 Dubai.
