Emirati superstar Hussain Al Jassmi produced another epic performance at Expo 2020 Dubai’s latest concert in the Infinite Nights series on Wednesday, 9 March, 2022 with fans flocking to Al Wasl Plaza hours before his show began.
Al Jassmi – who was one of the featured artists who played at Expo 2020 Dubai’s Opening Ceremony in September – unleashed his multifaceted voice and demonstrated why his diverse appeal has made him so popular across the Arab world and beyond.
Tracks included Egyptian dialect song Sittah Al-Sobh, before switching to Gulf dialect for We Tebga Li, then Al Jabal, which earned him a standing ovation.
The audience joined Al Jassmi to sing along enthusiastically during the 90-minute set, especially his chart-topping songs such as Beligh Habeeb. Whenever a specific song was requested, he responded by telling the audience that they were at Expo 2020 Dubai, the “Land of Dreams”, and their wishes were his command.
Speaking after his show, Expo 2020 Dubai Ambassador Hussain Al Jassmi said: “I am proud of my success with Expo and Expo’s success with me. I wish the success for everyone participated in the success of any Emirati project. This is our first aspiration, love and loyalty to this country.
“Today, I sang in my home and among my family and people, as Expo 2020’s Ambassador to the world and I am proud to perform today in this magical place … Expo is the ambition, the future and the aspiration for everything new and for the world population’s future.”
The Infinite Nights series has hosted an array of global superstars throughout Expo 2020 Dubai, including the likes of Nancy Ajram, Black Eyed Peas and Coldplay, at Al Wasl Plaza – the beating heart of Expo 2020 Dubai and home to the world’s largest 360-degree projection surface.
