DUBAI: Pakistani sounds filled Dubai Exhibition Centre, Expo 2020 Dubai, this evening (20 February) as renowned singers Shafqat Amanat Ali and Hadiqa Kiani took to the stage to entertain an enthusiastic audience with several hours of music.
Kiani is an acclaimed singer, songwriter, guitarist and actress who has performed at prestigious venues across the world, including the Royal Albert Hall in London and the Kennedy Center in Washington DC.
Accompanied by a backing band, she drew in the audience with an initially mellow set that became livelier as the evening progressed. Regularly pausing to chat with the crowd, she spoke of her pride when visiting the Pakistan Pavilion earlier in the day, as well as the power music has to unite us all.
She was followed by Ali, a pop and classical singer, songwriter and composer whose music has featured in several films, such as I Hate Luv Storys – the popular star worked through a selection of his hits to the delight of an appreciative audience.
