Taking care of a family comprising of 2 teenagers, 2 children, hubby and father in law, doing routine home errands, teaching as a Montessori directress in one of the reputed schools of Karachi and occasionally baking for the family. I never thought that I would run a venture of my own.
Myself Quratulain Hashmi owner of Baking Habit by QA. Baking is my passion since I was in school. After graduating from Home Economics College, my baking skills were polished, but this baking expertise was limited to cakes only. It was only a matter of learning basic recipe and some technical tricks and tips that can be learned from a professional only. The scenario changed when I attended a one-day work shop of Bread making by Chef Mehdi. From then onwards I started to love playing with bread dough and creating my own variety of breads and buns. Then a time came when I had to take the toughest decision. Due to some family liabilities and commitments I had to quit my job. Sitting at home after 8 years of working was not easy. I wanted to do something for my own satisfaction, that would not disturb my family as well. That was the time I started taking my baking skills more seriously. And then with the blessings of Almighty Allah and the encouragement of my well-wishers and family “Baking Habit by QA” came into being.
I have an exclusively short menu, which comprises of varieties of breads, buns, some savory items, cakes, teacakes & brownies. All freshly baked and delivered at your doorstep. Bread basket is my specialty. Clients from abroad and locally as well like to send bread basket and cakes with customized messages & color schemes to their loved ones on special occasions.
Last but not the least I would like to thanks Ayesha Wajid, Founder & Admin of Homemade Food Services. I know her since when I was not in food business and I used to order snacks from her venture The Snax time. It was a great initiative taken by her and her team to bring all the home bakers and home chefs together and help them to grow and flourish. I would like to address every woman here that always try to take out time for your passion, balance your time in such a way that you can pursue something that you love to do.
