Indonesia celebrates 76th Independence Day on 17 August 2021

KARACHI: On Tuesday, 17 August 2021, The Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Karachi hosted a flag hoisting ceremony in commemoration of the 76th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia. The ceremony was held with limited participants which adhere to strict health protocols regarding COVID-19.

With all the challenges and limitations posed by the pandemic, the spirit of Independence stays on with the people of Indonesia around the world in these tough times.

The ceremony was led by Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia Dr. June Kuncoro Hadiningrat as the Inspector, and supported by flag hoisters from the Indonesian students in Karachi. The program was attended by all members of the Indonesian Consulate, as well as representatives of Indonesian diaspora in the Sindh Province. The Consulate also provided live streaming for publics who wished to participate virtually. 

In addition of ceremony, the Independence Day Celebration of the Republic of Indonesia also hosted several other programs, namely games and competitions participated by the Indonesian public, as well as closing ceremony “Panggung Gembira” held virtually on 17 August 2021 at 6pm.
