Indonesian Consul General visits KCCI

KARACHI: Boosting Economic Recovery to 4.0, the Indonesian Consul General in Karachi visited the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Karachi Indonesian Consul General in Karachi Dr. June Kuncoro Hadiningrat made a courtesy call to President Karachi Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI).

During his visit he explained about Indonesia’s economic recovery after the Covid-19 pandemic to the President of Mr. Shariq Vohra and members KCCI. The meeting discussed several important issues related to the economy, including the process of upgrading the Indonesia-Pakistan Preferential Trade Agreement (PTA) to a Free Trade Agreement (FTA), the urgency of marketing other Indonesia’s leading commodities such as coal, textiles and tea, as well as Indonesia’s outbound investment in Pakistani.

Furthermore, the Indonesian Consul General in Karachi announced that the Indonesian Consulate General in Karachi has created the Indonesia-Pakistan Portal (bit.ly/INA-PAK), a digital platform that can facilitate business inquiries from both countries more efficiently and effectively based on information technology 4.0. At the end of the meeting, the Indonesian Consul General in Karachi and the President of KCCI expressed their commitment to making the Indonesia-Pakistan Portal one of the right tools in the “new normal” era with joint effort for the national economic recovery of the two countries after the pandemic. Indonesia – Pakistan Portal (bit.ly/INA-PAK) is one of the results of the optimization of the business process optimization of the Indonesian Consulate General in Karachi for Pakistani stakeholders, especially in the Sindh Province during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Indonesia – Pakistan Portal, which has been developed since March 2020 and upgraded in April 2021, has been sufficient to help the Indonesian Consulate General in Karachi to continue to provide services to stakeholders, especially business actors, while accelerating (increasing efficiency and effectiveness) the follow-up and settlement process, necessary services, including business inquiries.
