The Indonesian Consulate General in Karachi held a meeting with the chairman of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) Karachi Regional Center to inform about the KNB Scholarship program. It is a full scholarship from the Government of Indonesia through the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia for all students in developing countries, including Pakistan. These scholarships cover all levels of education both Bachelor, Masters and Doctorate provided by the 23 largest universities in Indonesia. This year, there are more than 1067 choices of study programs that can be chosen by prospective applicants.
Mr. Ibnu Sulhan, Consul for Information and Socio-Cultural Affairs said that in 2019, the number of Pakistani students selected to receive this scholarship was 6 people, and in 2020, it is unfortunate that the KNB Scholarship had to be canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic and it is hoped that this year 2021 more Pakistani students will get this KNB scholarship. For this reason, the Indonesian Consulate General in Karachi is trying to explore cooperation with the HEC Regional Center Karachi to disseminate this scholarship to universities and the communities, especially in Sindh Province.
This year, it is hoped that all scholarship recipients will begin their education in Indonesia in August 2021, so that the application deadline for this scholarship is April 18, 2021 through the Indonesian Consulate General in Karachi.
