Australian expat in Abu Dhabi wins US$1 Million in Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire Promotion

DUBAI: An Australian national became a millionaire while four other nationalities will drive away a luxury vehicle when their winning tickets were drawn today in Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire and Finest Surprise draw held in Concourse B at Dubai International Airport.

Mr. Riyaz T., a 40 year old Australian national based in Abu Dhabi became the latest US$1 million winner in Millennium Millionaire Series 354 with ticket number 1452, which he purchased online on 26th February.

A first-time participant to Dubai Duty Freeā€™s promotion, Mr. T. is a resident of Abu Dhabi for a year and half after moving from Sydney in Australia. Mr. T. is a father of two and works in a hospital in Abu Dhabi.

When asked how he learnt about the Dubai Duty Free promotion he said, ā€œI was actually browsing online for my daughterā€™s school project when an advertisement about your promotion popped up on screen that I accidently clicked. I checked it and decided to give it a try.ā€

DDF Finest Surprise draw for Series 1769, 446, 447 and 448

ā€œI canā€™t believe that I won with my first ever ticket to Dubai Duty Free promotion, I think I made the right decision to give a try on that day. This is a life changer, thank you so much Dubai Duty Free!ā€ he added.

Mr. T is the 7th Australian national to have won US$1 million since the start of the Millennium Millionaire promotion in 1999.

Today’s Millennium Millionaire draw was conducted by Dubai Duty Free’s Executive Vice Chairman & CEO, Colm McLoughlin, Chief Operating Officer, Ramesh Cidambi, Mona Al Ali, SVP – Human Resources, Michael Schmidt, SVP – Retail Support and Zayed Al Shebli, VP – Loss Prevention & Corporate Security.

Following the Millennium Millionaire draw the Finest Surprise draw was conducted for one luxury car and three motorbikes. Joining in the draw line-up was Sharon Beecham, VP ā€“ Purchasing.

Mr. Samir Fostock, a Saudi Arabian national based in Dubai won a BMW 750Li xDrive M Sport (Donington Grey) car, with ticket number 0772 in Finest Surprise Series 1769, which he purchased online on 25th February.

Mr. Fostock is unavailable for immediate comment, but will no doubt be surprised when he learns of his new car.

Meanwhile, Mr. Tomor Ivanov, a Bulgarian national from xx won a BMW F 750 GS (Black/Yellow) motorbike, with ticket number 0801 in Finest Surprise Series 446, which he purchased online on 22nd February. He is also unavailable for immediate comment.

Mr. Rinshad Ali, a 32 year old Indian national based in Oman won a BMW R 1250 R (Black Storm Metallic) motorbike, with ticket number 0193 in Finest Surprise Series 447, which he purchased online on 2nd March.

Born and lived in Muscat, Mr. Ali is a second time motorbike winner after he first won an Indian Vintage Darkhorse (Thunder Black Smoke) motorbike, with ticket number 0266 in Finest Surprise Series 441 last month.

Married and working in an audit company, Mr. Ali was surprised to learn that one of his 10 tickets for Series 447 made him a second time lucky in Dubai Duty Free.

ā€œI highly recommend for people to participate in your promotion, itā€™s really worth to try, you never know what surprises awaits you from Dubai Duty Free,ā€ he said.

Lastly, Mr. Ronald Sequeira, a 54 year old Indian national based in Dubai won an Aprilla Tuono Factory (Atomico Racer) motorbike, with ticket number 0997 in Finest Surprise Series 448, which he purchased online on 9th March.

A regular participant to Dubai Duty Freeā€™s promotion since 2016, Mr. Sequeira is a resident of Dubai for 15 years and runs a technical services company in Al Quoz.

ā€œThank you very much Dubai Duty Free, Iā€™m the happiest person in the world now,ā€ he said.
