DUBAI: With the Dubai Fitness Challenge just around the corner, the Emirates Group will be kicking off activities to deliver the benefits of virtual fitness to employees.

Across the Group, numerous virtual fitness and wellness sessions will be run during the 30-day citywide initiative to make Dubai the most active city in the world. Customised virtual workouts, running free of charge, such as yoga, weight-lifting, martial arts and latin dance workouts have been created by fellow colleagues to help employees get active and realise their daily health goals. The virtual workouts take inspiration from Emirates fitness enthusiasts who continued to train even during the lockdown.

With a year-around focus to support a culture of health and wellbeing, Emirates Group’s programme, Sehaty, will continue to provide health focused content and resources on the organisation’s internal employee portal during DFC so employees can integrate tips and techniques into their work and life. Employees can also stay updated on Dubai Fitness Challenge virtual initiatives through Sehaty.

The Group has more than 40 different sports and lifestyle activities managed and run by employees, and this year all activities will be managed in line with health and safety measures in place. Emirates is also one of the founding members of the ‘Business for Wellbeing Council’, along with other major UAE businesses, to promote, share and drive well-being best practices.

In addition, throughout the year, Emirates Group employees can enjoy special discounts at participating Dubai-based health clubs and gyms.

This year, aside from encouraging employees to participate, Arabian Adventures, the Emirates Group’s destination management division, and sports brand ASICS will offer free, guided sightseeing runs across the city for an on-foot perspective of iconic sights and landmarks during DFC.

The Dubai Fitness Challenge runs from 30th October until 28th November. The Emirates Group is one of key partners of the Dubai Fitness Challenge and has been supporting the initiative since its inception in 2017.
