DUBAI: In line with its ongoing commitment to the health and wellbeing of its employees and host communities, DHL Express UAE launched a local campaign coinciding with Breast Cancer Awareness month, to raise awareness amongst its staff, customers and the general public, about the disease and the importance of being aware and staying alert for early detection and prevention.

As part of its campaign, DHL Express UAE has lit up its Main office in pink, and has taken to the streets with 200 of its vans branded with the Breast Cancer Awareness ribbon. In addition, symbolic Breast Cancer Awareness pins are being distributed to customers in all its 32 retail points in the UAE while the screens across all of its facilities and retail points are showcasing relevant statistics and educational information related to the disease.

Internally, all retail advisors are wearing pink shirts in solidarity, while a ‘Pink Thursday’ event has been organized for staff as a reminder for all female employees to take preventive measures.

According to Geoff Walsh, Country Manager, DHL Express UAE: “Globally, two million cases of breast cancer are diagnosed every year; diagnosis has an indescribable emotional impact on every patient, but also on family, friends and colleagues. As an integral member of the communities we operate in, and with a large employee community of our own, many of who have been touched by this disease in some way or form, DHL Express Stands As One against breast cancer and wants to do its part to help raise awareness that prevention and early detection is critical.”
