Southern Africa Trade & Investment Seminar-II to be held from 27-29th August 2019 in Johannesburg

JOHANNESBURG: The Pakistan Southern Africa Trade Federation has in continuation of its endeavor to explore new investment opportunities and to enhance volume of bilateral trade between Pakistan and Southern African nations planned to a 3 Day trade and investment seminar in Johannesburg from 27 to 29th August 2019.

The event is being organized in coordination with the Pakistan High Commission in Pretoria, the Trade Commission of Pakistan, Gauteng Growth & Development Agency (GGDA), the department of Trade and Industry (DTI) South Africa and Invest South Africa (Invest SA).

The chairman of Pakistan Southern Africa Trade Federation, Mr. Rafiq Memon said this would pave way for more trade between Pakistan and Southern Africa as South Africa is the gateway for Southern African Development Community (SADC) which includes Angola, Botswana, Comoros, Republic of Congo, Swaziland, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Seychelles, Namibia, United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe. 

Representatives from various sectors including agriculture, tourism, information technology, textile, real estate, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, defense, natural resources, coal, sports goods, surgical instruments, foods and confectionary are expected to participate in this seminar.  This would also provide them with this opportunity to share their experiences of present business conditions and environment found in Pakistan and Southern African countries. The 2 Day Seminar on Trade and Investment on 27 to 29th August 2019 is being arranged as part 2 of the earlier one held in August 2018 in Johannesburg and proved a big success for participants from both countries. About 30-40 entrepreneurs and traders from SADC countries including Botswana, Malawi, Mozambique and Lesotho also expected to attend this event first time in its history, besides, the executives from GGDA, SASOL limited and representatives of department of international relations and cooperation(DIRCO) and department of trade and industry(DTI), chambers of commerce & industry, South Africa and the black business council(BBC) along with renowned business sector specialists, corporate leaders and famous businessmen, whereas from Pakistan about 60 well known business personalities have so far informed the organizers about their participation in the seminar.
